A beautiful muggy mist set over the river early this morning and as the Camp Kandalore explorer paddlers awoke and prepared breakfast amongst the mosquitoes and pine trees, it truly felt like summer!  May brought us rain, chilly temperatures and high water, but June is already promising us more sun and reasonable shore lines.  Our campground has been busy, buzzing since Palmer River Fest and our course calendar is filling up quickly.

I’ve already had the pleasure of speaking to many excited parents looking forward to summer youth programs, and it never gets old to hear how excited a young paddler is to join us and experience all the adventure whitewater can bring.  I still get chills hearing parents describe happy experiences that our whitewater programs bring.  One of the many benefits of working with Paddler Co-op is watching so many of our youth group up here, summer after summer.  I was quite shocked this year at Palmer River Fest to see some of our long time Co-op members teens and pre-teens who almost tower over me now & most certainly have kayaking skills that blow me out of the water.  One thing remains true, our youth programs are the heart and soul of this organization.

We will be offering Kids CAN, SHRED & TEEN Rodeo programs in July & August so don’t miss your chance to encourage the next generation of paddler in your house!

New this season we are offering NO HST on youth programs with registration prior to July 1st.  Don’t miss your opportunity to get your youngster in a boat this season!
