Teen Adventure: 14-Day Whitewater Canoe Leadership Expedition

Challenge, adventure, and leadership in the heart of Ontario’s wilderness.
This 14-day overnight expedition is designed for intermediate to advanced youth ready to take on a leadership role in the backcountry. The program focuses on whitewater canoeing, river rescue, wilderness camping, and leadership development, culminating in a self-supported journey across Algonquin Park’s renowned Petawawa River system.

What the Program Includes:

  • 2 days of whitewater training on the Madawaska River

  • 12-day canoe expedition across Algonquin Park to Lake McManus

  • Certified instruction in whitewater river running and rescue techniques

  • Skill-building in map reading, route planning, and river navigation

  • Leadership experience with opportunities to co-lead sections of the trip

  • Wilderness camping, portaging, and backcountry decision-making

  • Emphasis on confidence, self-regulation, teamwork, and initiative

  • All equipment, food, and shuttles included

  • A detailed packing list provided before departure
