STOKED! – 9-Day Whitewater Kayaking Adventure for Teens (Ages 13–16)

🚀 More than a camp—this is a 9-day leadership, paddling, and personal growth experience. Paddler’s will level up their kayaking, build confidence, and create real connections as they paddle four of Ontario’s best rivers: the Madawaska, Ottawa, Rouge, and Gatineau.

📋Program Schedule At A Glance

Meet the group, skill assessments, overview of the week, paddling at jessups to work on rolling, stern squirts, and maneuvering in current

Ottawa-McCoy’s/the lorne to work on scouting & reading big water, “unsticking” yourself while side surfing. Ending the day off with some swimming in whitewater and freestyle at babyface. Media Class in the evening after dinner, with a review of how to shoot whitewater content.

Ottawa main channel laps, with rescue and throwbag practice. A run down the main channel, with video review and freestyle after lunch. John Mason’s river advocacy and access talk in the evening.

Early surf session at McCoys, then brunch and media review around noon. Head to main after lunch to get a full lap paddling creekers/halfslices. Evening media review, and then prep for the next couple days of traveling to kayak.

Travel to the gatineau and paddle it! All day affair, with lunch on the river. After paddling, dinner at the chip truck in gracefield and then back to camp.

Travel to the Upper Petawawa. Hike in to put in, and paddle all day. Drive to Rutherglen in the PM, then set up camp.

Paddle the Kipawa. Head to the put in and meet up with local guides. Focus on creeking skills and hitting eddies/making moves on the descent. Scouting, river reading, group safety and decision making will be the focus of today. Dinner and then set up camp at McCubbins.

Head to the Petawawa town section in the morning, and paddle there until lunch. Then head back to John’s for camping and dinner. Final journal reflections at camp.

Wake up and head to the Lorne. Playboating at Pushbutton/Garburator. Lunch on the river, then back to camp to tear down and head back to the co-op. Unpack at the co-op, then closing ceremonies and goodbyes to an awesome week and a half on the water.
