Ready to Go From Good to Ripping?
RIPPERS is our 4-day skill-building camp for youth ready to take their whitewater kayaking to the next level. Ideal for paddlers who have the basics down, this day program helps kids refine strokes, build confidence, and paddle real rapids—safely and with support.
Whether they’re hoping to surf waves, master eddy turns, or just feel more in control on moving water, this camp delivers!

What A Day At Camp Looks Like
-
- AM: Meet instructor and group, gear fitting and selection, then head up the lower set for a warm up and intro to current
- PM: Jessup’s chute washout to practice and review C/S turns, ferries and jet ferries. Introduce bracing and rolling basics.

- AM: Short classroom session to learn and discuss scouting strategies, then head up to Jessup’s to implement and practice
- PM: Practice rolling out in front of the co-op, technical strokes/boat control (bow draw, pivot turns), afternoon games and fun with new skills

- AM: Freestyle! Peaches n Cream (wave) for an intro to playboating. Practice surfing with focus on carving, cycling, boat control and FUN!
- PM: Jesssup’s chute to practice eddy hopping, creeking strategies for breaking down a rapid and challenging skills and moves.

AM & PM: Big final day. River trip the middle or lower mad (water level and skill dependent) to practice all the skills learned on a new section of river! Bring lunch with us as we’ll be gone all day.
