Hope this finds you well, and excited about the upcoming paddling season. Here is an update on Palmer River Festival:

Given the uncertainty around provincial stay-at-home order restrictions, reopening schedules and the state of our regional and provincial efforts to minimize the spread of the Covid-19 virus, Paddler Co-op is developing a contingency plan for the Palmer River Festival event scheduled to be held on May 21, 22, 23, 2021.

With many unknown and uncontrollable factors influencing the level of provincial restrictions for businesses and events, Paddler Co-op is proceeding on a two week timeline for making decisions on the Palmer River Fest event schedule, programming, modifications and potential rescheduling or postponing the event.

At the time of writing, April 26th, 2021, the current stay-at-home order restrictions will be lifted prior to the event and we are hoping to be able to proceed as planned.

Knowing that it’s possible these restrictions will change as the date draws nearer, we will be updating our membership on whether or not the event will proceed as planned no later than 14 days before the start (May 7, 2021) of the event. We appreciate your understanding that circumstances and regulations are changing quickly these days, and our crystal ball is murky.

Please know that in our journey to help build a better paddling community for everyone, we are doing our best to provide a safe and enjoyable experience for everyone who attends the Palmer River Fest, and in the event that we need to reschedule, we will do our best to accommodate our ticketholders’ needs and be understanding of the challenging situations some folks may be in. At the end of the day, we want to be able to celebrate community and bringing people together to enjoy our beautiful river and surrounding area, and know that we will do everything we can to get folks out on the water!

As a reminder from the time you purchased your ticket to the 2021 spring Palmer River Fest event, the tickets are non-refundable, but we are pleased to offer ticketholders the opportunity to reschedule their attendance at Palmer River Fest this season or next, should we need to reschedule or postpone the event, and attendance is not possible.

Please keep your eyes and ears open for the next communication from our office in the coming weeks, and understand that we cannot predict the future, but rather cautiously and optimistically look forward to the next time we can get out on the water together, safely.

From our crew in Palmer Rapids to yours,

Thank you, be well, take care of each other, and thanks for doing your part
